PebblePad is a platform designed to promote learning that is reflective, authentic and scaffolded. It can be used as follows:
- as a traditional eportfolio
- to document placement activities
- for course related work that may require iterative recording and reflection
- curating content
Some of the applications of PebblePad include the creation of an ePortfolio (employability, demonstrating competence/learning, task/experiential portfolio etc), maintaining a placement workbook, recording professional development activities, or creating a reflective journal.
Benefits of using PebblePad- A student’s work can be viewed at any time and not just at final submission
- Programmatic, ongoing student learning that does not need to be confined to a unit but has a course-wide approach
- Students can re-use/collate/curate their work
- Content can be
- unstructured i.e. the student creates content from scratch;
- structured i.e. an academic defines the form/workbook (provides templates) and the student completes it;
- or a combination of both
- Non-Monash users (e.g. preceptors and clinical supervisors) can assess student work or complete reports on student performance
- Forms can be made available via the PebblePocket app, which does not require web access
- Content can be shared externally via a weblink
- Multiple feedback options
- Multiple report options
