Adjusting Moodle quiz settings to delay feedback

You may want to delay feedback to prevent students seeing correct answers and/or feedback on questions in a test. This may be if the test is open for an extended period (hours-days) or if significant numbers of students have special consideration and will sit the quiz later.

To delay feedback in this instance:

Ensure editing is turned on for your Moodle unit.

Go to the quiz and select Edit > Edit Settings

Go to the Review Options section of the settings.

Ensure all options are unchecked, as shown:

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Save and return to unit'.

Students will not see any feedback or marks when they complete the quiz.

After all students have completed the quiz, return to the settings menu and make the following change:

Check all desired items in the 'After the quiz is closed' column. (The specific items you check may depend on the feedback you have set up for your test).

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Save and return to unit'.

Students will now be able to see the feedback and/or marks awarded for each question and overall.
