Using a Pass / Fail Scale - with Rubric

When using a Pass / Fail scale with a Rubric, there will only ever be two possible options based on the combination used in the rubric. The following is the logic:

Note: In the rubric options the "Calculate grade having a minimum score of the minimum achievable grade for the rubric" is ticked for the above scenario. If it was not ticked, it would be a 'Pass'.

Note: other factors such as the gradebook setup can also contribute to the outcome. 'Rubric options' will also impact the outcome. For example in the above scenario having the "Calculate grade having a minimum score of the minimum achievable grade for the rubric" enable or not, will change the behaviour.

Scales do not always behave as expected. Therefore, it is recommended that scales not be used.
