Question - Rubric adding grades incorrectly (using negative grades)

Question:

We are currently in the midst of marking assignments using a rubric in Moodle and the grades are not adding up as they should.

We have applied negative grades in our rubric for late submissions. Is this part of the problem?

Answer:

When using a rubric with negative grades you need to ensure this setting is selected. Calculate grade based on the rubric having a minimum score of 0

If this is not selected your student's grades will not calculate as expected.

For the rubric below, Moodle assumes the minimum grade possible for this Assignment is -30.

Question:

I have already marked Assignments using incorrect settings. What can I do?

Answer:

If you have changed this setting after you have already marked Assignments, unfortunately, these need to be re-marked.

This just involves opening up the Assignment and saving the rubric again. This will re-calculate the correct grades.
