New to Moodle is this handy feature Stealth Activities
Earlier versions of Moodle had a “quirk” that allowed activities (or resources) to be hidden inside “extra” weeks or topics, but still be accessible to students. These were known as “orphaned” activities and allowed Moodle users to achieve particular designs for their courses.
Now you can put any activity or resource into “stealth mode” to achieve this same effect in a more officially-supported way.
Text-Based Instructions
Select Turn editing on at the top right hand of the page
Select Edit next to the name of the activity or resource. From the dropdown menu select Hide.
Once the hide option is selected, Hidden from students will appear below the activity
Select Edit next to the name of the activity or resource. From the dropdown menu select Make Available.
Once the Make available option is selected, Available but not shown on course pages will appear below the activity
The correct process of Linking to Activities and Resources has not changed. To ensure links update during a rollover, be sure to 'Copy link location' and DO NOT COPY/PASTE THE URL.
