Turnitin suggested settings - single submission (April 2021)
Below are the recommended settings to use when students are not able to review their Turnitin reports before final submission of their work for grading.
In the settings window for the assignment on Moodle, go to the Turnitin plagiarism plugin settings section, and adjust the settings as follows.

Display similarity reports to students: yes
When should the file be submitted to Turnitin: Submit file when first uploaded
Allow submission of any file type: no
Store student papers: Standard repository
Check against stored student papers: yes
Check against internet: yes
Check against journals, periodicals and publications: yes
Report generation speed: Generate reports immediately (students cannot resubmit)
Exclude bibliography: yes
Exclude quoted material: yes
Exclude small matches: words
Exclusion value: 5 (recommended value is 5-8 words depending on topic)
